Our mission
Read-at-home provides parents and carers with clear, practical advice and
support for helping children learn to read.
Who we are

Read-at-home has been developed by Pearson Education (formerly
Harcourt), the UK’s leading publisher of books for schools.
We publish primary school books in the UK under the names Ginn,
Heinemann and Rigby. Here are just some of the schemes that may be used in your
child’s school:

Our expert

Read-at-home has been put together with the advice and support of Chris
Buckton, MBE.
Chris Buckton was a member of the writing team for the National Literacy
Strategy and has written extensively on language and literacy for a range of
publishers, including the Basic Skills Agency. She is a member of the advisory
group for Sure Start/Step into Learning.
In 2000, Chris was awarded an MBE for services to Family Literacy.
We'd like to thank Chris for her valuable contribution to this
